If you're a fan of heavy metal shreds, you won't want to miss The Great Kat's DVD: "The Great Kat’s Beethoven’s Guitar Shred".

I was interested to find out exactly what "The Great Kat" was about. The DVD answered that question. I'm fond of several guitarists who can play pretty fast, but image The Flight of the Bumblebee at 300 beats per minute.

With facial mannerisms reminiscent of a young Ozzy, Kat runs the gamut from sexy-dressed vixen in whites to a blood soaked leather goddess in a shocking video that earns the DVD a parental advisory warning with regard to explicit content - specifically, graphic references to torture, including torture devices, blood and not-too-convincing victims.

Kat is a classically trained violinist graduated from Juilliard. But what do you do when you're a hot (technically and physically) virtuoso? Kat (Katherine Thomas)? Her answer was to apply her substantial violin technique to the electric guitar. And the results are amazing. I for one hope to see more from "Kat" to join her other recordings
