Hurray! I've got my own BeMicro FPGA-based MCU evaluation board!

One of the really cool things about running the FPGA Community here on TechBites.com is that I get to play with all sorts of cool "goodies". Just a few moments ago as I pen these words, for example, a nice man from UPS bounced into my office and presented me with a package containing a BeMicro FPGA-based MCU evaluation board.
This little rascal (which looks GREAT) was jointly developed by the folks at Altera and the guys and gals at Arrow Electronics. The cost of the board is only $49, which is amazing when you see what's on it. In addition to other goodies, the board features a Cyclone III FPGA and a 32-bit Nios II configurable, embedded, soft-core processor.
The accompanying letter says: "Just plug this board into your USB port and follow the instructions. This low-cost evaluation kit includes a complete lab to get you started designing a custom microprocessor system in an FPGA in just a few minutes."
This all sounds jolly exciting. As usual, I'm up to my ears in alligators fighting fires at the moment (I never metaphor I didn’t like), but I intend to play with this little scamp over the coming holiday and I shall report further in a few days time.
Until then, you can find out more information on the BeMicro by Clicking Here.
