NXP Semiconductors just introduced its free NXP iPhone application, which allows automotive and other electronics design engineers eased access to its products and support services. Designers can search, buy, and share information on more than 10,000 parts from the company's High Performance Mixed Signal and Standard Products portfolio on their Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Application features include:
- Database browse and search by product functions and part numbers to obtain product specs. Product datasheets, application, and packaging information are also available.
- Ordering products: By placing products directly into a shopping cart, they will be directed to online stores of NXP’s worldwide distribution partners to quickly complete a transaction.
- Engineers can share product specifications by emails or social media sites, such as Facebook or Twitter.
- A “My Favorite” function allows engineers to keep track of product types that interest them.
