I am beginning to hear that the economy picking up. Not only would I like to know if this is your experience, but here's an Official Non-Random Survey that covers just a few questions:
1) Has this psst year been the worst economic hit you've seen in your working lifetime? (If no, what was?)
2) Has it affected you?
3) When do you think we'll really be out of the woods?
4) Do you think there are any positives that will result from the pain?
5) Do you do anything different professionally as a result of the downturn?
I'd be interested in hearing from you.

Hi Carolyn. I can't fully explain it, but I will probably close out this year as the best since I became an independent consultant 5 years ago. Last year was my worst. I think the key is being flexible and working out where you can add value.
Brian, It's funny you should say that. 2009 will probably be my best too--but as a result of really scrambling. This downturn plus the last two have left me somewhat paranoid.
