What percentage of time do you spend on software?
In a recent blog post (http://www.synopsysoc.org/viewfromtop/?p=214) Frank Schirrmeister talked about time spent on hardware and software. Franks Question:
What percentage of your total project effort is spent on software development (vs. hardware development) during design?
His results:
• SNUG 2008 38% of the users responded with “0% to 25%” 46% with “26% to 50%”. The other categories are unknown
• Virtual Multicore Conference, 61% of the respondents reported higher effort on the software side.
• EETimes Virtual SoC Conference 54% reported higher effort on the software side.
What other results can we add to this list?
