What's next for your AUTOMOTIVE product?
A Technological Centre doing research on Smart Materials and Smart Devices has developed technologies for ENGINE ENERGY EFFICIENCY, SAFETY SENSORS and INDOOR COMFORT.
ENGINE ENERGY EFFICIENCY: materials that can be applied to the surfaces that are heated by the components of an automobile and take advantage of the temperature gradients to generate electricity. These are materials with thermoelectric properties that are revolutionising the use of heat energy generated by automobiles and that also have the capacity to cool those same components, with the resulting savings on vehicle maintenance
SAFETY SENSORS: What if we could monitor the status of the driver and passengers to attain the greatest possible safety within a vehicle? The technology being developed allows integration of minimised and non-intrusive sensors to monitor a range of factors.The status of the driver and their driving (lane departure warning / wake-you-up safety) is monitored by introducing systems that vibrate, warn or trigger stop mechanisms if the driver becomes drowsy or the vehicle moves erratically.
INDOOR COMFORT: Smart materials achieve their maximum potential in an automobile with the aim of improving comfort. The technological center is making it possible to introduce textiles that can heat or cool seats, materials that make the interiors of vehicles more comfortable, optical systems that allow us to lay out panels that are less visually cluttered and more technologically complete, and to introduce luminous comfort by means of OLED and electroluminescent technology.
