Common Transistor Amplifiers.
Common Base
Voltage Gain, Alpha Formula,
Low input impedance, High output impedance,
In phase with input.

Common Emiter
Power Gain, Beta Formula,
Mid input Impedance, Mid output impedance,
Out of phase from input

Common Collector
Current Gain, Gamma Formula,
High input impedance, Low output impedance,
In phase with input

The first mnemonic I ever learned
(sp? sheesh, is there a mnemonic
for remembering how to spell mnemonic?)
was the lines on a music scale...
Every
Good
Boy
Does
Fine
and the notes in the spaces between them
spells F-A-C-E

The first electronics-related mnemonic I
remembered was the resistor color code
BLK Bad
BRN Boys
RED Rape
ORG Our
YLW Young
GRN Girls
BLU Behind
VLT Victory
GRY Garden
WHT Walls

How many people even know what a "Victory Garden" was?

I guess that evolved to
(the more politically correct)
Big Boys Race Our Young Girls,
but Violet Generally Wins.

I'm starting to feel old...

In Chinese character, the Color Band Code for resistor is "棕红橙黄绿,蓝紫灰白黑". They are in the order of 1234567890, and each character represents for a corresponding color. It can be read out with Mike's code as "Boys Run Over Your Great Big Violets Growing Wild Badly".

In a Mid-Point biased Common Emitter Transistor amplifier,
If a voltage drop is noted on the Emitter, the bias voltages on Base and Collector will rise.
If a Voltage Drop is noted on the Base, the bias voltage no the Base will drop and the Collector will rise.
If a Voltage drop is noted on the Collector, all three will drop.

Hence the baloon holding up the line, and where the break occurs, the rock will drop and the baloon will rise.

The nmenonic for the coulours of the rainbow always struck me as a bit weird- I mean, really, what sort of colour is "Indigo" when its at home? But Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain doesn't work too well without it.
