	            	            Very nice article! Having been involved for many years as a subject matter expert in patent matters, I've found that patent due diligence often skips dealing with technical issues. Specifically, in the4 software area a great many patents are relatively easy (but expensive) to challenge successfully. To do so requires a wide subject matter body of knowledge. Few people have that level of knowledge.

	            	            Thanks for posting this. As someone who as done due diligence on a number of occasions in the past, it is amazing how I always seem to be able to pick up a good idea or additional area of consideration from the work of others. However, at the end of the day, I often find after I put in place a complete plan of what I intend to cover, the client requests that it be pared back in certain areas in order to contain costs. As an example, I have often suggested getting a copy of a patent wrapper to ensure that everything was in order or that significant discussion with the PTO have not reduced the value of the patent, but no client has ever wanted me to go ahead with that, even though the actual costs are quite small.	            ]]></description>
